Apple announces the day when iPhone 5 will be released which is on September 14th Friday. Furthermore, they did mention the features that you should expect in it. However, even if this is the case, the question that many people ask is between iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S which is the best? In general, when you compare both of these gadgets, you will see that there is a small difference to it. In other words, both of these gadgets are special in a way and both of them have their advantages. However, the upgrades to iPhone 5 makes it better to iPhone 4S.

The comparison of iPhone 4S vs iPhone 5

Below are some of the things that makes iPhone 5 better than iPhone 4S.

Operating system

As you know, iPhone 5 has an upgrade in this section. Unlike iPhone 4S which is running using IOS 5.1.1, iPhone 5 is running using IOS 6.0. This makes iPhone 5 win in this category. The IOS 6.0 will make the phone work faster when you compare with iPhone 4S.

 

When the operating system is huge s in the case above, this means that its processor should also be able to support it. Therefore, iPhone 5 has ARMv7 @ 1.02GHz and it is using 1 processor and it is dual core. In the other hand, iPhone 4S is using apple A5 @ 800MHz and it is using 1 processor and it is dual core also.

Memory

As you have probable heard, iPhone 5 has a huge space when you compare it to iPhone 4S. The memory of iPhone 5 runs on 1015MB and iPhone 4S is running on 504MB; Making iPhone 5 the champion in this section also.

IPhone 5 has a 4-inch (diagonal) retina display. Furthermore, the screen is an 1136 by 640 resolution and it is running on 326 pixel. iPhone 4S has a 3.5-inch (diagonal) retina display. The screen gives a 960 by 640 resolution and it is running on 326 pixels. When you compare both when it comes to screen resolution, they are the same. The difference is that iPhone 5 has a bigger screen. Therefore, we will consider this a tie.

Cellular and wireless connection

IPhone 5: GSM model; GSM/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA+ and when it comes to CDMA model: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B; Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n; 802n on 2.4GHz and 5GHZ) the Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS.

IPhone 4S: GSM model: GSM/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA and when it comes to CDMA model: CDMA EV-DO Rev.A2; Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n; 802.11n on 2.4GHz) the Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS.

As the above details explain, the difference is little. But iPhone 5 wins this challenge.

Intelligence assistant

In this category, both iPhone have everything the same. Both have Siri. This means that you can use your voice to send messages, set reminders and many more. Therefore, this is a tie.

According to the points above, it is evident that iPhone 5 has some upgrades which are not far off from iPhone 4S. But the truth is that iPhone 5 has been upgraded. The problem with iPhone 5 is that it is not compatible with existing micro-Sim cards. They use Nano-Sim.
