Ever since the launch in China, every gadget enthusiast in India has been waiting for Xiaomi to bring Redmi K20 series to India. They are going to finally do it today in an event at New Delhi. You can watch the event live on Mi.com and through company’s social media channels.
Xiaomi has teased a special variant of K20 Pro hours before the launch. It is unsure whether or not the variant will go on sale. On a side note, we think the Mi A3 launch will also happen today.
Gold Plated Redmi K20 Pro is Getting Launched Today
The company has teased the arrival of the special edition K20 Pro on all their social media channels. The back of the device is made of gold. And, guess what? It is worth Rs. 4,80,000. They may be doing all this to create hype to increase sales.
From the image circulating on social media, golden back isn’t the only premium thing on the special version. Moreover, they have also gone with a diamond-clad ‘K’ studded on the back. Neither the official channels nor the CEO confirmed the availability of the variant in the market. Chances are the golden K20 is intended for showcasing only.
Does it carry the same specifications of the regular K20? It is too early to get into the same. We have to wait until the launch to get a clear picture.
Companies like Apple and Samsung have done releasing ultra-premium versions of their smartphones in the past. With the gold-plated K20 Pro, Xiaomi is finding its way to the list. The company started its business in India with Mi3 in July 2014. They may be launching the exclusive variant to celebrate the five-year anniversary.
As the Chinese launch of the smartphone happened already, we know what to expect. The device sports a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 91.5 screen-to-body ratios and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner to align with the latest trend.
Underneath the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 gives the processing power coupled with up to 8 GB RAM. The internal storage is available up to 256 GB.
The triple rear camera setup on the back houses a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.75 lens, a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with a wide-angle lens, and a third 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 lens. The 20-megapixel popup shooter is responsible for taking selfies. The 4000 mAh battery inside supports 27W fast charging.
