Samsung Galaxy S11 is Coming: Everything We Know So Far

Last Updated on January 6, 2020 by Rahul Rawat Leave a Comment

Samsung is gearing up to launch its Galaxy S11 series and it is said to launch on 11 Feb 2020. Samsung has sent invites for the S11 series unpacked event. The official invite shows two boxes instead of the letter “A” in the name Galaxy. Based on rumors, it’s probably the boxes present the Galaxy 11 and Samsung’s next foldable phone. Which is said to bend vertically and close into a square.

The Samsung Galaxy S11 has a codename, Picasso. But the question is why would Samsung name a phone after a great artist? Maybe because of the camera!. Well, before it goes official, Onleaks has already given us a glimpse of the camera module.

It is rumored, that this year Samsung is not going to launch a smaller version of S series. As we have seen S10e in the last year’s flagship. Instead of launching a single S11e the phone maker has decided to launch the Galaxy multiple variants. Like S11e would be called S20, S11 as the S20+ and S10+ as the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Samsung S series Expected Specs

The S series is a flagship series from Samsung. Every year it comes with the latest and high-end specs. This year Samsung is going to introduce a 120Hz display. To fill the missing high refresh rate from its 2019’s flagships. However, the lighter version may sport a 90Hz display. Along with the high refresh rate the device is also said to boast larger display with smaller bezels as compared to its predecessor Galaxy S10. This is what you’ll get

  • Galaxy S11 – 6.4-inch
  • Galaxy S11+ – 6.7-inch
  • Galaxy S11 5G – 6.9-inch

Taking about the design Ice universe has attained protective cases for all three variants allowing us to compare their respective sizes. It also confirms all devices have a centered punch hole for the front camera.

For the performance, the Galaxy S11 would be powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with LPDDR5 RAM. The company is trying to give you the best performance experience here with the top-notch hardware. However, Samsung could introduce an Exynos-equipped version to drag all this down.

In the optics department, S11 will feature a 48MP telephoto lens. The telephoto lens is capable of 5x optical zoom and is suitably codenamed “Hubble”. That with come along with another 48MP wide-angle lens, a ToF sensor, and an extensive 108MP primary lens.

Connectivity includes WiFi6, a microSD card slot (not available in the entry-level S11 version). But, the S11 series would not include headphone jack in its devices. For security, the phone would have Qualcomm’s 3D sonic Max fingerprint sensor.

The sensor will also support two fingerprints at the same time, which will deliver a significant increase in security. To light up all these things the Galaxy S11 could come with 4,500mAh and the S11+ may boast 5,000mAh battery. All three variants will support 45W super Fast Charging.

That’s all we know so far about the Galaxy S11 Series. Let us know your thoughts about this in the comment section below. And do you think Samsung will launch its Folding smartphone along with the S11 series?
