OPPO A16 is a new entrant in the affordable smartphone market for Indian consumers with a MediaTek chipset. The newly announced smartphone is a successor to the A15 launched in October 2020. Besides, the design has changed quite a bit with a new finish on the back and thin bezels on the front. Also, the rear features an AI-enabled triple camera setup with an LED flash.
OPPO A16 Specifications
The OPPO A16 sports a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD with narrow bezels and a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The display supports Eye Care mode and comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio screen. The device runs on the Android 11 Operating system with Color OS 11.1 on top. Under the hood, an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU powers the smartphone.
The camera module present on the OPPO’s new budget offering features a triple camera setup. The setup consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor. A secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor for bokeh; and a tertiary 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front-facing camera on the device is an 8-megapixel wide sensor with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling.
The storage provided on the device is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Users can expand the storage by up to 256GB with help of the micro SD card. Besides, the connectivity options of the smartphone include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
Also, the sensor array on the smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor; accelerometer, proximity, compass. The battery capacity provided on the A16 device is a 5,000mAh cell that comes with the Smart Battery Protection feature. Additionally, the smartphone is rated with IPX4 certification for splash resistance.

The OPPO A16 comes at a price tag of Rs. 13,990 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant. The device flaunts in two unique colors such as Crystal Black and Pearl Blue color options. The device is available for purchase from today i.e.; September 20 from Amazon and other various offline retail stores in India.
