Asus has Launched ROG Phone 3 with Snapdragon 865+, 144Hz Refresh Rate, 5G Connectivity Starting At Rs 49,999

Asus has launched its third gaming smartphone ROG 3. The company has been making the gaming ROG series for the last two years. The latest ROG 3 looks pretty similar to last year’s ROG 2. However, the smartphone comes with hardware-level upgrades. The smartphone comes with Snapdragon 865+ SoC, Air Trigger 3, 6,000mAh battery, 5G connectivity, and more.

The ROG 3 comes with a 6.59-inch Full HD+ display (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 including a 144Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. It also supports HDR 10 and has a Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 865+ SoC, it can max up to 3.1GHz clock speed compared to Snapdragon 865 (ROG 2) which can go only up to 2.8GHz clock speed. The processor is coupled with Adreno 650GPU, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS3.1 internal storage.

On the optics front, the ROG houses a triple camera setup at the back, which includes 64MP Sony IMX686 primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture. Supported by a 13MP ultra-wide (125-degree) lens and a 5MP macro lens. For the selfies front, it has a 24 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

The phone can record up to 4K videos through the rear camera, while the front camera can record up to 1080 pixels videos.

The gaming phone packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports 30W ROG Hypercharge fast charging. The phone comes with dual front-facing speakers powered by ROG GameFX and Dirac HD sound technologies. Additionally, it has quad microphones with Asus Noise Reduction technology.

ROG 3 Features

The ROG 3 comes with a ton of features that includes basic features for health, for gamers, and more. The smartphone has a TUV Low Blue light solution as well as Flicker reduction-certified technology for eye comfort. Additionally, the smartphone offers two USB Type-C ports, one on the side and one on the bottom of the device to give gamers an immersive experience while charging the device.

Now coming the main highlight of the device which is gaming, like its predecessor the ROG features Air Triggers. But in ROG 3 these Air triggers become more advanced and now can be customized more and supports gestures. Asus has now added dual-partition L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons on the phone.

The phone has also added an option to map an in-game command, for instance when you shake the device, it will automatically reload the weapon. The company also selling some additional accessories like the Twin Dock 3 and a desktop dock.

Price and Availability

The Asus ROG 3 will be available via Flipkart from 6 August. The price for the 8GB + 128GB variant has been set at Rs 49,999, while the 12GB + 256 GB variant will cost Rs 57,999. Both phones come with an Aero Case, whereas the 12GB variant’s retail box will also include the AeroActive Cooler 3 accessory.
