Apple has launched a service program for the iPad Air (2019) models, those are suffering from the “Black Screen” issue. Due to the Black screen issue, the device may go blank permanently. Users might see a brief flicker or flash that may appear before the screen goes blank. Affected consumers can visit an Apple authorized service provider with their iPad air to get it serviced.
The company announced a service program on its support page. Apple noted the issue has encountered in the iPad Air (3rd generation). On the page the company mentioned, the affected devices were manufactured between March 2019 and October 2019. The service program for the iPad Air (2019) is notably live across the globe and covers faulty devices for two years after the first retail purchase. Do note, the service is free of charge.
How you can get your iPad repaired
If you are one of the affected users, you can visit an Apple authorized service provider with their iPad air to get it serviced. It is recommended for users to back up their iPad data to iCloud or anywhere else before sending the device for repairing. The company is also providing mail-in service via its Apple Repair centres in select markets. Additionally, Apple mentioned that the service program does not cover any other iPad Air models.
Well, the company also mentioned if the device has any damage or cracked screen, that issue will be resolved before fixing the actual ‘Black Screen’ issue. And in some cases, additional screen repair would cost you.
Further, the company mentioned that the company may restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase. And the program doesn’t extend the standard warranty coverage of the device.
It is good that the company is providing a free service program for the affected devices. Apple frequently launches service programs for affected devices, free of charge. Previously, the company offered a free replacement of faulty smart battery cases of iPhone XS, XR, and XS Max.
The affected Smart Battery Case may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors. It will not charge the iPhone at all or the case will only charge the iPhone irregularly when plugged into power.
