Apple Event Highlights: iPad Air (2020), iPad 8th Gen., Apple Watch SE and Series 6 Launched

Apple hosted another event after WWDC 2020, where it unveiled several new products. The list includes Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad Air (2020), and iPad 8. Along with the latest products, the company also launched Apple One Subscription bundle services.

Apple Watch Series 6

The Apple Watch Series 6 comes with several new features such as Always-on display, new Watch faces, family setup, and with new sensors. Series 6 can measure blood oxygen saturation. It tells you how well your cardiovascular system is functioning.

It is powered by an S6 processor which is said to be 20 percent faster than its predecessor. The watch now supports Memoji’s faces. Also, it can measure elevation in real-time, which is useful to hikers.

The Series 6 is the first Apple Watch to ship with a Product Red edition, which has a red band. It’ll contribute a part from the sale of Product Red edition to charity.

Apple Watch SE

In the event, the company also unveiled a more affordable Apple Watch, SE. It is powered by S5 dual-core SiP and comes with almost the same features as Apple Watch 6 such as Fall detection and Emergency SOS, altimeter, heart rate monitor, swims proofing, and much more.

The Watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters. The Watch also has different faces for different activities such as surfing, hiking, and photography. It costs $279 in the US, and as part of its bid to be more eco friendly, it will not be shipped with a USB power adapter.

iPad 8th Gen

The iPad has the A12 Bionic chip, a Touch ID, and similar form factors as compared to its predecessor. The iPad 8 comes with slimmer bezels and a more prominent 10.2-inch display. It has a similar design to 7th gen iPad, a home button with Touch ID built-in.

The entry-level iPad comes with an 8 MP rear camera and a FaceTime HD camera for selfies. Apple claims the camera can take advantage of machine learning capabilities to enhance your photos. It is powered by iPadOS 14 and also gets support for Apple pencil.

The iPad 8th Gen is available at a starting price of $329. And it will soon be available at Apple Authorised Resellers at a starting price of Rs 29,900 for the Wi-Fi model and Rs 41,900 for the Wi-Fi+ Cellular.

iPad Air 2020

The iPad Air features a 10.9-inch edge-to-edge retina display, Touch ID, USB- C connectivity, and is powered by the latest A14 Bionic chip. The company claims A14 promises 40 percent faster CPU, 30 percent faster graphics, and 70 percent faster machine learning with next-generation Neural Engine.5.

The 4th gen iPad Air comes with a single-lens 12 MP rear camera with Focus Pixels and a 7 MP FaceTime HD camera with improved low-light performance.

The iPad Air comes at a starting price of $599 for the US and Rs 54,900 for India. It will be available in October at Apple Authorised Resellers in India and will be available in silver, space grey, rose gold, green, and sky blue.
