Redmi Note 12 Series Launched With 5G Chipsets and Triple Cameras in India

Redmi Note 12 series officially arrived in India after the massive success of the Note 11 series, which was announced last year. The company has started bringing their mid-range Note series smartphones with AMOLED displays giving tough competition to other brands.

However, the Note 11 Series lacked 5G connectivity last year, being behind brands like Realme, Samsung, and OPPO. Redmi has filled the gap this time with the use of 5G chipsets on the devices to keep up with the competitors. Moreover, the brand has brought advancements to its camera department by introducing a 200MP sensor on the Note 12 Pro + variant.

Let’s check out the features, complete specifications, pricing, and availability of the Redmi Note 12 5G series. 

Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro 5G Specifications

The Redmi Note 12 5G sports a 6.67-inch full-HD AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 394ppi pixel density, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Besides, the display has a 100 percent coverage of DCI-P3 color gamut, 1200 nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood, the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC paired with Adreno 619 GPU powers the Note 12. The Note 12 Pro gets powered by the  MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC paired with Mali-G68 GPU.

The storage provided on Note 12 includes 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. On the other hand, the Note 12 Pro features up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Furthermore, the devices run on Android 12-based MIUI 13.

The camera setup comes with a triple sensor housing that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.88 lens on Note 12. The Note 12 Pro 5G comes with a  50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide secondary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and a tertiary 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The front-facing camera of Note 12 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.45 aperture for selfies and video calling. The Pro variant comes with a 16-megapixel shooter.

The smartphone has an IP53-rated water and dust-resistant design, weighing 188 grams. The battery pack provided on the device features a 5000mAh cell that supports 33W fast charging with the in-box adapter.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G Specifications

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ sports a 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The display supports 30Hz to 120Hz of variable screen refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. Besides, there’s a peak brightness of 900 nits, 1920Hz PWM Dimming, support for HDR10+, DCI-P3 color gamut, and Dolby Vision.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+

Under the hood, an octa-core  6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset paired with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU powers the handset. The smartphone’s storage includes up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB internal storage. Redmi has used a 3,000mm square vapor chamber (VC) for thermal management. Moreover, the device comes with an X-axis 0809 vibration motor for gaming.

The device’s camera module includes a 200-megapixel primary Samsung HPX sensor with an f/1.65 lens. There’s a secondary ultra-wide angle 8-megapixel secondary sensor with 120-degrees FoV, f/2.2 aperture, and a tertiary 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front-facing camera comes with a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.45 lens.

The smartphone comes with dual-speaker technology that supports Hi-Res audio and dual stereo. The battery pack included with the device has a 4,980mAh cell that supports 120W fast charging that charges the device fully in 19 minutes. Redmi has provided the device with dedicated Surge P1 chips for power management.

Price and Availability

The Note 12 5G starts at 17,999 and goes up to Rs.19,999 in  Frosted Green, Matte Black, and Mystique Blue color options. The Note 12 Pro 5G arrives in Frosted Blue, Stardust Purple, and Onyx Black, starting at Rs. 24,999 and going up to Rs. 27,999.

The Note 12 Pro+ handset costs Rs. 29,999 for the base variant and goes up to Rs. 32,999 for the higher storage version. The handset flaunts Arctic White, Iceberg Blue, and Obsidian Black color variants. The Redmi Note 12 series will go on sale from January 11 at noon IST on Flipkart, Amazon, Mi official website, and Mi Stores across India.
