Xiaomi had announced earlier about its CC lineup of smartphones. Now, the company has launched its 3 CC-branded smartphones in the Chinese market that includes Xiaomi CC9, CC9e, and the CC9 Meitu Edition. As far as the Xiaomi CC lineup is confirmed, there is no specific meaning to it other than what Xiaomi calls “Camera+Camera”.

With the camera-centric CC9 series, the company is focusing on youth that comes with a curved glass back and gradient finish.

Xiaomi CC9 series comes in three variants – Blue Planet, White Lover and Black Prince. While the Xiaomi CC9e is the entry-level offering in this series, Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Edition is the most premium offering. The pricing of the Xiaomi CC9 series starts at 1299 Yuan (~Rs. 13,000) for the CC9e whereas it goes up to 2599 Yuan (~Rs. 26,000) for the CC9 Meitu Edition.

Talking about the Xiaomi CC9 and CC9e, they both have AMOLED displays with Full HD+ resolution. The display size on CC9e is 6-inch whereas CC9 has a 6.39-inch panel. On both these devices, you will get a teardrop notch that hosts the selfie camera. The devices have an in-display fingerprint scanner and come with 4030 mAh battery capacity.

The main difference, however, is in the processors on Xiaomi CC9 and CC9e. While the Xiaomi CC9 comes with Snapdragon 710 processor, the CC9e has a Snapdragon 665 chip. Xiaomi’s CC9 and CC9e are equipped with 48MP primary cameras at the rear. Along with that, you get an 8P ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor on both these smartphones. The devices run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

However, the interesting thing to note is that Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Edition is almost identical to the Xiaomi CC9. All the internals of CC9 and CC9 Meitu Edition are the same. The only difference that you can see is in their finish and looks. As the CC9 Meitu Edition comes in a special Pearl White Edition.

The Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Edition appears to be targeted towards women users who love to have matching accessories with their smartphone. Because Xiaomi will also sell a $30 clear bracelet case which matches the smartphone’s color. There is also a clip-on LED soft light for sale with this smartphone for $7. This should help users who want to click softly-lit photos in the night time.
