Vivo Z1 With 6.26-Inch 19:9 Display, Snapdragon 660 SoC Launched

Rahul Krishnan • Updated May 25, 2018 • 3 min read • Leave a Comment

Vivo has amazed the whole tech community when they launched the first ever smartphone with an under-screen fingerprint scanner. They are all set to release the same device (X21) in India on May 29. The Chinese smartphone maker has launched yet another smartphone in their home country.

Dubbed as Vivo Z1, it is the first Z series device from the company, which packs in some impressive specifications. It is currently available for pre-orders in China.

The company is seriously trying to change the perspective of tech savvy people towards them. They focused on the offline market and came up with devices of the least price to features ratio.

When it comes to the specifications, Vivo Z1 features a 6.26-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. No matter how you hate the notch on top of the display, you just have to live with it. Vivo has proclaimed with the new device that they have no plans to ditch it so soon.

The phone features a metal and glass design with a fingerprint scanner, placed on the back. The bezels are minimum.

As you go under the hood, you will find the 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The company only released the model in a single variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. You can expand the storage up to 256 GB using an external SD card. Maybe, the hybrid secondary slot might cause an issue if 64 GB is too low for you to store files.

As for the optics, the device sports a dual rear camera setup with a 13 megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary sensors. Along with the setup, you will get an LED flash to enhance the low light performance. The 2 MP secondary sensor captures the depth details and brings the bokeh mode into force. Up front, you get a 12-megapixel camera for selfies.

Vivo Z1 runs on Android Oreo 8.1 with Funtouch OS on top of it. The 3260 mAh battery provides it with the necessary power.

Although there is a single RAM/storage variant, you will get different color options (Black, Red, and Blue). If you are in China, you can pre-order the phone from today and they will start shipping on June 4th.

On JD.com, the phone has got the pricing of CNY 1,798 (roughly Rs. 19,200). At this point, we are unaware of the fact that whether or not they will bring it to India.
