Poco M4 Pro 5G Launched with 90Hz Refresh Rate and MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC in India

Poco M4 Pro 5G has made a debut in the Indian smartphone market on 15 Feb; after its Chinese launch that took place in November last year. This new iteration of the smartphone from the Poco brand comes as a successor for the previously launched Poco M3 Pro in June last year.

The new handset from Poco will sell in the mid-range smartphone category with 5G connectivity; giving tough competition to other brands in the same segment.

The design of the smartphone looks very similar to the Redmi branded Note 11; featuring the same rear camera aesthetics and a front punch-hole display. Besides, the new M4 Pro 5G handset from the Chinese brand will compete with the likes of Realme Narzo 30 Pro, Oppo A74 5G, and Vivo T1 5G.

Additionally, the smartphone gets a Turbo RAM option; which helps in expanding the built-in RAM virtually by using the internal storage.

The Poco M4 Pro 5G sports a 6.6-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD Dot Display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a peak brightness of 450 nits along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The handset runs on the custom MIUI 12.5 skin based on the Android 11 operating system. Under the hood, an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset powers the device coupled with up to 8GB of RAM.

The camera setup on the M4 Pro 5G includes a Dual camera setup that includes a primary 50-megapixel wide f/1.8 aperture with PDAF. The 8-megapixel ultrawide secondary camera comes with a 119-degrees field of view along with an f/2.2 aperture.

Moreover, the front-facing camera on the M4 Pro 5G is a 16-megapixel sensor; with a wide f/2.5 aperture for selfies and video calling. Users can record videos with 1080p resolution at 30 and 60 fps on the device.

Coming to the sensors of the device, Poco has provided a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, and a compass. Also, the connectivity options of the smartphone include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1; GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

Furthermore, the device features Stereo speakers for media consumption and comes packed with a 5000mAh cell that supports 33W Fast Charging.

Price and Availability

The Poco M4 Pro 5G starts at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage. Whereas, the higher storage variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage will sell at Rs. 18,999.

The smartphone will flaunt in three different colors; Cool Blue, Poco Yellow, and Power Black colors. Poco has scheduled the sale of the smartphone from February 22 at noon on Flipkart.
