OPPO Reno 7 5G Series Launched with MediaTek Chipsets and 90Hz Displays in India

Oppo has finally unveiled its Reno 7 5G series of smartphones in India; after the Chinese debut in November last year.  The series features the Oppo Reno 7 and the Reno 7 Pro smartphones; with the 5G MediaTek SoCs and 90Hz refresh rate displays and triple camera setup.

However, the Oppo Reno 7 5G has a different set of specifications from the Chinese variant. Moreover, the similarities match with a different handset; such as the Reno 7 SE smartphone from the brand. The regular variant and the Pro variant come with few differences and upgrades in comparison; that makes a good price contrast unlike the previous models from the Chinese manufacturer.

OPPO Reno 7 5G Specifications

The Reno 7 5G handset sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Reno 7 display features a 90Hz refresh rate and up to a 180Hz touch sampling rate with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Under the hood, an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC powers the handset; coupled with 8GB of RAM and with onboard storage of 256GB. Moreover, the device comes with 5G support running on Android 11 with ColorOS 12 Skin on top.

OPPO Reno 7 5G

The triple camera setup on the Reno 7 5G captures images with a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. Whereas, the wide-angle images take the help of the 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and macro shots from the 2-megapixel shooter with an f/2.4 aperture.

The front-facing camera on the handset features a 32-megapixel punch-hole sensor with an f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calls.

The connectivity options of the device include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC  a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, the sensors array of the Reno 7 features an in-display fingerprint scanner; an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, pedometer, and a proximity sensor.

Besides, the battery backup of the smartphone comes from a 4,500mAh dual-cell with 65W Super VOOC fast charge support.

OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G Specifications

The high-end version from the series sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display on the Pro variant supports the 90Hz refresh rate and up to a 180Hz touch sampling rate along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Reno 7 Pro 5G comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max SoC coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

OPPO Reno 7 5G series

The camera module on the Pro version features a triple sensor setup featuring a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The secondary sensor features an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor; with an f/2.2 aperture and the tertiary shooter features a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 camera sensor works as the front camera; tagging along with a dedicated color temperature sensor for front and back cameras.

The sensors array of the Reno 7 Pro comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, pedometer, and a proximity sensor. Moreover, the connectivity options have 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2; GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

The battery on the device comes packed with a 4,500mAh dual-cell that supports 65W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Price and Availability

OPPO Reno 7 5G starts at Rs. 28,999 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version; whereas, the Reno 7 Pro sells for Rs. 39,999 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The color options of the smartphones include Starlight Black and Startrails Blue shades.

The sale of the regular Reno 7 starts from February 17 and the Pro will get available to the consumers from February 8 in India.
