OnePlus TV 40Y1 has officially launched in India from the Chinese manufacturer. OnePlus is known for its flagship-grade smartphones and timely updates. They have ventured into other gadgets as well such as TVs, watches, and TWS earphones.
The products other than the smartphones are also doing well and generating good sales in India for OnePlus. They are rivaling brands such as Realme and Mi in this space launching different IoT products.
The highlighting features of the newly launched smart TV from OnePlus are a 40-inch bezel-less design. The 40-inch version is similar to the already announced 32-inch and 43-inch Y1 smart TVs sold in India.
The build of the TV is a plastic back as the TV comes under the budget category. Similar to other TVs in the market, you can either wall-mount it or place it on a table with the provided holders.

The 40Y1 TV sports a 40-inch LED-backlit LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display of the TV supports 93% DCI-P3 color gamut, 93% screen-to-body ratio, advanced Gamma Engine for improved visual quality. The TV supports Dynamic Contrast, noise cancellation, and anti-aliasing color space helping for overall better picture quality.
An unknown 64-bit chipset powers the television coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The 40Y1 TV runs on Android TV 9.0 operating system bundled with OxygenPlay content aggregation service.
The operating system features Google Play Store, Google Assistant enablement (in English, Hindi, and eight Indian languages), Alexa support, and inbuilt Chromecast.
The audio setup on the television is a 20W stereo speaker with support for Dolby Atmos. The users can control their television by installing the OnePlus Connect application on their smartphones. The feature is available on all the range of TVs from OnePlus derived from the high-end Q-series TVs. There are other nifty features on the television such as Shared Album that allow you to share pictures from your smartphone on the television.
The OxygenPlay feature on the TV assorts the recommended content from apps such as ZEE5, Amazon Prime Video, Sony Liv, Netflix, music-streaming app Spotify, and more. The connectivity options on the television are two HDMI ports, two USB, RF, optical digital audio ports. A 3-in-1 AV composite, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 5.0, and ethernet.
Price and Availability
The OnePlus TV 40Y1 comes for a price tag of Rs. 23,999 and comes under the affordable TV category in India. OnePlus as an introductory offer kept the price at Rs. 21,999 in India. The first sale for the television is scheduled on May 26 at 12 pm from the e-commerce platform Flipkart.
The card offers provided for this particular television are a 10 percent Instant discount on the use of HDFC Bank cards and EMI transactions.
