LG K42 Launched With Quad Cameras, MediaTek SoC, 4,00mAh Battery At Rs 10,990

LG has launched its new smartphone LG K42 in India. It debuted in the Central America and Caribbean region in September last year. The phone comes with a hole-punch display, a quad rear camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 4,000mAh battery.

The phone comes with a military-grade MIL-STD-810G certified build that is touted to have passed nine different categories of the US Military defense standard testing. It includes high and low temperature, temperature shock, vibration, shock, and humidity among others.

Lg K42 Specifications

The K42 features a 6.6-inch HD+ hole-punch display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core, MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) processor. It is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The storage can be expandable via a microSD card up to 256GB.

In the camera department, the LG K42 rocks a quad rear camera setup that includes a 13MP primary sensor accompanied by a 5 MP secondary super-wide-angle lens. A 2MP depth sensor and another 2MP macro shooter.

LG has added a Flash Jump Cut feature, it allows the camera to take four still images with some intervals, alongside using the flash to indicate when the sensors are capturing images. There is also a Time Helper feature that blinks the flash to alert users before the phone captures an image. The phone further includes AI Camera features.

For selfies and video, it features an 8MP sensor at the front hosed in the hole-punch display.

Sensors onboard include Fingerprint Sensor (side-mounted), Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Digital compass, Gyro sensor.

Specifically for gamers, the LG K42 comes preloaded with a Game Launcher that helps provide relevant settings for mobile games.

It has a dedicated Google Assistant button and LG 3D Sound Engine. It runs on LG UX based on Android 10 out of the box. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. It weighs 182 grams.

Price And Availability

LG K42 costs Rs 10,990 in India, for the single 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. It comes in Gray and Green color options.

It will be available for purchase through Flipkart. The company offers a two-year extended warranty along with a free one-time screen replacement on every purchase.
