Asus has finally launched its flagship smartphone, the 6z in India. Asus has already launched this smartphone globally so the only thing left to be revealed was the Indian pricing. However, Asus came into trouble recently with the Indian court because of its ‘Zen’ branding. The court ordered Asus to drop the ‘Zen’ or ‘Zenfone’ branding from its devices.

Thus, Asus has to change the name of its flagship device for the Indian markets. So what is called the Asus Zenfone 6 globally will be called the Asus 6z in India. Similarly, Asus 6z’s predecessor has been named as Asus 5z which was named Asus Zenfone 5z previously. The Asus 6z comes with a unique flip camera, top-of-the-line flagship specifications and more starting at Rs. 31,999.

Asus 6z launched in India with Snapdragon 855 starting at Rs. 31,999

Asus 6z is launched as a competitor to the OnePlus 7 Pro and upcoming Redmi K20 Pro from Xiaomi. Therefore, it was interesting to see the price that Asus 6z would be launched at. And Asus has managed to undercut the OnePlus 7 Pro’s pricing by a huge lot and even manages to be slightly less than OnePlus 7 which is available at Rs. 32,999.

We get flagship specifications on the Asus 6z with Snapdragon 855, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. There is a 6.4-inch full HD+ display on the Asus 6z which is called as a ‘NanoEdge‘ display at 600 nits peak brightness.

Also, there are no bezels on the front or bottom of the Asus 6z because of its unique flip camera mechanism. Asus 6z also runs on Zen UI 6 based on Android 9.0 Pie which offers near stock Android experience.

The camera on Asus 6z is unlike the pop-up camera mechanism on OnePlus 7 Pro. On the Asus 6z, you get a camera which sits at the bottom but flips out to also act as a selfie camera. This means that you get the same quality of photos for your back as well as front. These cameras are a dual setup of 48MP+13MP.

While there is a 48MP primary camera, the 13MP sensor is an ultra-wide angle lens. Also, the flip mechanism of Asus 6z can be controlled with volume buttons to possibly have it any angle. The camera setup also has Laser AutoFocus and Dual LED flash.

Coming to the price, Asus 6z is available in India for Rs. 31,999 for its 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The smartphone will be available only on Flipkart from 12 PM on June 26th.
