Alienware x15 R1, x17 R1 Ultra Thin Gaming Laptops Officially Launched

Alienware x15 R1 and x17 R1 are the newest series from the Dell-owned subsidiary Alienware. The launch has revealed some of the aesthetic details of these new gaming laptops. The notebooks have a compact build with the thinnest design available in the segment. The thickness of the laptop of this gaming beast is 15.9mm. It is pretty much close to the Razer Blade 15 Advanced with a 15.8mm-thickness.

The thinness of the x15 R1 makes it one of the “world’s most powerful sub-16mm 15-inch gaming laptops”. The duo laptops feature the new 11th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors. Apart from that, Alienware x17 R1 the elder sibling of the x15 R1 features an optional Cherry MX mechanical keyboard. The keyboard has a unique design that mostly attracts gamers and mechanical travel enhances the gaming experience.

Alienware x15 R1 Specifications

The laptop sports a 15.6-inch display with two options – a 1080p resolution 360Hz refresh rate panel or 1440p resolution/ 240Hz refresh rate panel. Furthermore, the laptop features ComfortView Plus technology, a hardware-based, low-blue-light technology to help reduce eye strain.

An Intel Core i9-11900H CPU, paired with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU powers the laptop. The storage of the gaming notebook is up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 4TB of storage.

Alienware X15 R1

The x15 R1 has a thermal interface material called Element 31 that delivers up to 25 percent improvement in thermal resistance. The “Dark Core” chassis design of the x15 R1 is built using the company’s Legend 2.0 design identity.

The connectivity options are USB Type-C and USB-A ports along with a bundled USB Type-C-to-Ethernet adapter. The battery capacity of the laptop is an 87WHr battery with fast-charging support of a 240W power adapter.

Alienware x17 R1 Specifications

The laptop features a 17.3-inch display with two options – a 1080p resolution 360Hz refresh rate panel or 1440p resolution/ 240Hz refresh rate panel. Similar to the x15 R1, the x17 R1 has Element 31 for thermal management and HyperEfficient Voltage Regulation for extended performance. An Intel Core i9-11980HK CPU along with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU powers the laptop.

Alienware X17 R1

The storage options for the 17-inch notebook are up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and up to 4TB of onboard internal storage. The connectivity options of the notebook feature the USB Type-C and USB-A ports. Although, the x17 R1 has a built-in ethernet port unlike the x15 R1’s bundled cord for USB Type-C to the ethernet port. The 17-inch model is thicker and heavier with 20.9mm of thickness and has a net weight of 3.02kg.

Price and Availability

The Alienware x15 R1 comes with a price tag of $1,999.99 which is Rs. 1,45,800 approx. The x17 R1 gaming laptop is priced at $2,099.99 which is approx. Rs. 1,53,100. The gaming laptops with their full configuration will go on sale from June 15 in the United States.

There is no official information on the release of the Alienware X-series notebooks in India or other countries. The official details are yet to be revealed by Alienware.
