New Samsung Smart Monitors with Samsung Dex and Pre-installed OTT apps announced for the Indian markets. Basically, these newly announced monitors target users that are working from home due to pandemic situations.
Besides, video streaming applications have taken a lot of profits as well during this time. Samsung has seen this and brought in a couple of monitors that fits perfectly in your work and entertainment space.
Samsung is calling these smart monitors ‘Do-It-All‘ screens which have apps in-built such as Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, and other OTT apps.
You don’t need to connect any external devices to use these applications. The smart monitors have access to Microsoft Office 365 apps as well for office productivity. This makes it a standalone device with an OS built-in for the monitor even though you don’t have a device to connect which makes it unique.
Samsung Smart Monitors M5 and M7 Details
The Korean manufacturer has introduced two models of smart monitors which are M5 and M7. The display size of Smart Monitor M5 is a 27-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display size of Smart Monitor M7 is a 32-inch 4K display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
Albeit, both the smart monitors feature a VA panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 250 nits of peak brightness, 8ms (GtG) response time.
The smart monitors have HDR10 support, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and 178-degree viewing angles. Although, the refresh rate is only at 60Hz as the monitors are not made for gaming or such sorts.
Besides, Samsung has packed in some nifty features into the monitor which are Samsung’s Flicker-Free technology, Eye Saver mode. A Game mode, HDMI-CEC, Auto Source Switch+, and adaptive picture.
The Samsung Smart Monitors run on Samsung’s Tizen 5.5 Operating system with support for the Samsung SmartThings app. The users can cast their devices wirelessly as well. The features such as connectShare 2.0 and sound mirroring will help you connect the device wirelessly to the monitor. Besides, the other connectivity and I/O options are two HDMI ports, three USB ports, Bluetooth v4.2, and Wi-Fi built-in.

The smart monitors M5 and M7 have tilt adjustments and weigh 3.6kg and 5.4kg respectively. The Smart Monitor M5 is priced at Rs. 28,000 but comes for an introductory price of Rs. 21,999 for a limited period.
The price of the Smart Monitor M7 is Rs. 57,000 but has an introductory price of Rs. 36,999 for a limited time. These smart monitors from Samsung are up for sale from Samsung’s official website, Amazon, and through retail sellers in India.
