5 things to expect from Apple’s iPhone 6 Event

Mehran Ashraf • Updated March 27, 2020 • 4 min read •

The smartphone community is keeping their fingers crossed for the iPhone 6 event which is going to held on September 9 at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, California. The tag line of this event, “Wish we could say more” is keeping the people more curious as it seems Apple is going to surprise us by unveiling much more than just iPhone 6. Here is the compilation of five most expected things Apple can release on iPhone 6 event.

Unlike previous events, this time Apple will also broadcast the event live via a link on the official website of Apple, but only Apple users will be able to watch it just on their Safari browser. Mac users should be operating OS X 10.6.8 or later, mobile devices should be on iOS 6.0 or later and Apple TV devices should be operating on version 5.0.2 or later.

What to Expect from September’s Apple Event?

If you don’t meet the above criteria then you don’t have to worry about because we will also exclusively cover the event on our blog, so you just have to stay tuned into GeekDashboard on September 9.

Two Models with Bigger Screen Size

The last iPhone 5S had 4.0 inch screen, but we are highly hopeful for two iPhone 6 models, one with one 4.7 inch screen and other one with 5.5 inch large screen that will be called the iPhone 6L.

In the last event by Steve Jobs, he made fun of Samsung smartphones and said that they are so big that it’s difficult to get hands around them and said that “No one’s going to buy that”, but time has proved him wrong as now people are mostly getting attracted to larger screen sizes and now also expecting Apple to launch idevices with larger screen size.

iWatch

Google has launched its wearable watch that can be fully sync with android phone long ago and now it was Apple’s turn to launch any such device. It seems this is the time to get our hands on one such device by Apple. Currently rumor mill is giving it a name iWatch, but Apple has not yet announced any of its name. Whatever the reality is, that is not far away now.

However, according to Rumour Mill, it will cost around $400 and will have OLED display and not a very long battery life. It seems that Apple will change the negative views of people about wearable devices that it doesn’t look fashionable because Apple hired the CEOs of Yves Saint Laurent and Burberry who are top talent of fashion industry.

An interesting point is to wait for the technology by which Apple will sync its iWatch with iDevices because up until now Apple devices have been lacking the Bluetooth technology. Will apple include this technology in its upcoming devices or will rely on internet connectivity for synchronization?

Payment Method never Experienced Before

Rumour Mill has been churning out about near-field-communication or NFC technology for couple of years, none of the mobile manufacturers including Apple have implemented it to date. It seems this may be the end of the wait and we are going to have NFC technology in iPhone 6.

Many reports indicates about the meetings of Apple and American Express and Visa to make it possible.

If this speculation becomes reality, then there will be no need of wallets or credit cards. You will just need your smartphone to purchase anything you want.

Scratchless Sapphire Screens

Sapphire is the hardest material on the planet earth which is scratchless and doesn’t crack easily. It is speculated that Apple is going to use it on screen of upcoming iPhone 6. The one used for mobile devices is artificially made which is flexible and not too expensive as well. In case it will be a reality then it will be definitely a big plus point of the device.

Much Improved Security

As NFC technology is very much expected, along with providing the luxury of getting rid of wallet and credit card, Apple will also make sure that its device should be very much secure and there should not a way to hack them because if any hack will surface on market, then it will be a bigger failure of the company and Apple will also loose the trust of its users. So it is a real challenge for the company. We wish Apple all the best for its upcoming device. It seems that Apple is going to give really tough time to jailbreak community.
